Distro-hopping!
I have just finished compiling the list of OS’s I want to try at some point. When I get a new laptop I’ll try a few of these and stick with each for a few days at least - however I don’t expect to stick to any of them because I just really like Arch.
I’m sure there is a distro-hopper in all of us. What I like is that I can try a distro, find a feature I like and, almost certainly, implement it on another distro. This means that without having to reinstall everything on my computer, I can just change a bit of it to get the feature I want. Well, here is my list:
- Linux:
- Debian
- CRUX
- Slackware
- Gentoo
- LFS
- BSD:
- FreeBSD
- OpenBSD
- NetBSD
- DragonFlyBSD
- Other:
- ReactOS
- MenuetOS

I really enjoy your blog, and I know what you mean by Distro hopping, when I first started using Linux I did it A LOT. not so much now, I stick with a few that I can get stable quick w/out too much work. I dont generally have the time to work with a distro for hours to get stuff going, But I do love trying new ones out. by the way, have you tried Fedora 9 LiveCD? I cant seem to get it to boot on my PC or my Wifes Laptop. some say its slow to boot.. maybe I’m inpatient? who knows. keep up the good blogging, and check out mine if you dont mind, I just started it not too long ago!
I haven’t tried the Fedora 9 LiveCD. I tried Fedora 8 Xfce Spin last year, and just found the package management a bit lacking.
I#ll have a look at your blog now.
